Press Tour Organized to the Samarkand Central Expedition

JSC “Uzbek Geological Exploration”, operating under the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, organized a two-day press tour to the Samarkand Central Geological Exploration Expedition for representatives of the mass media. The event was aimed at covering the implementation of state programs focused on developing the country’s mineral resource base, as well as the field activities of geologists.

According to S. Nematullayev, Head of the Samarkand Central Geological Exploration Expedition, the expedition is currently working on a total of 32 projects. During the press tour, particular attention was paid to the comfortable working conditions created for workers, employees, and drilling specialists who work around the clock in remote mountainous areas.

As part of the press tour program, journalists and bloggers visited the Zarmitan field expedition, located on the southern slopes of the North Nuratau mountain range. Media representatives had the opportunity to observe the operation of modern drilling equipment and the progress of underground mining and tunneling works being carried out as part of 8 major projects at the Zarmitan field expedition.

The participants also visited areas where geological samples obtained from rock formations are crushed and specially stored. Journalists showed particular interest in the operating mechanism of the new “Sample Control” information system, which has fully digitized laboratory processes.

This media event provided the public with an opportunity to gain a closer look at the challenging and honorable work of Uzbek geologists in identifying the country’s mineral resources, which form a foundation for its economic strength.
