GEOMIN-2026: Modern Approaches to the Development of Geology

On September 13 this year, an international roundtable titled “Modern Geology: Policy, Technologies, Regional Studies and Human Capital” was held in Tashkent as part of GEOMIN 2026. The event was opened by Feruza Khamidova, First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event brought together heads and representatives of geological services, scientific organizations and sectoral institutions from Uzbekistan, France, Finland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Türkiye, the United States and other countries, as well as international professional organizations. Particular attention was paid to the digital transformation of the sector and modern methods of conducting geological research.

The participants discussed the use of artificial intelligence in processing geological, geophysical and geochemical data, the integration of various research methods, and the development of 3D models and digital twins.
